Baking weaves many paths through our family, both past and present. My Dad’s aunt and uncle owned Dufort’s Bakery in Troy, NY in the mid-1900’s. My Dad baked and decorated the cakes for his daughters’ weddings. My Mom and grandmother baked prodigious contributions to the numerous bake sales our schools had over the years. The love of “playing” in the kitchen was sparked for me when my daughter gave me a cookbook for Christmas a few years ago. She herself has joined in the fun, with her signature ginger molasses cookies her most sought after item. But the time I’ve spent “playing” in the kitchen with my wife — co-owner of Two Ladies Catering — is what culminated in DufortsBakery.com. It’s an outlet for the fun and creativity we share, and we hope you will enjoy the results of it!
